Altius Building Company, along with J.E. Hoffman Management and AG Architecture, is proud to be part of The 2100 Urban Residences Apartment project. Located in a bustling area of Wauwatosa, an outdated office building is replaced by modern, multifamily homes. After years of planning and preparation, the project is in its finishing stages!
Altius started construction of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-guaranteed apartment building in October of last year. Before building even began, the design team worked with the city and nearby residents to improve and widen the alley that accesses the site. 2100 was hand-selected to receive a green infrastructure grant from Metropolitan Milwaukee Sewerage District in recognition of features that mitigate the stormwater impact. 2100 has a green roof with site drainage controlled by a bioswale. Plantings and trees, designed as “thirsty species” will help to soak up stormwater. Also, pervious paving in specific areas will prevent rain runoff. A layering of wall panels and brick creates a three-dimensional sculptural effect outside, along with a deck that provides urban and residential views. The beautiful front doors of 2100 open up to an office, gathering space, and work-out area.
There are 97 apartments over four levels, including studio, one- and two-bedroom units, on top of two floors of underground parking. Parking includes access to electric car charging spaces. There are fantastic light-filled spaces and large windows overlooking the city skyline. 2100 come with stainless steel appliances, washer and dryers in units and walk-in closets. Homes are also pet-friendly!
The crew at Altius Building Company have done an excellent job working within a tight, urban space, keeping neighbors happy, and braving the cold, frigid temperature. We can hardly wait for the final result!
